We have had the great Privilege to be able to investigate this timeless and beautiful old castle on several different occasions. It has been a great place for us to experiment with ideas and try to figure out questions we had as well as get some great stuff. Thanks to all our friends at the Brownsville Historical Society.
This was a very cool place we had the chance to do an all night investigation with some good friends from other Paranormal groups. It has a long and colored past. Our guides were very knowledgeable of the history and paranormal incidents that have taken place here. I definitely want to go back again.
The hospital was aKirkbride plan facility. Built in 1862 it was also known as the Western Pa. hospital for the insane. Named after Dorthea Dix who wanted to see better treatment for the mentally ill. It closed it's doors in 1984. We had the opportunity to investigate this place on 2 occasions all night with carte blanche access from the owners. It was such a massive place that 2 nights weren't enough. It had several out buildings including a full functioning hospital, gym, water treatment, personnel housing, a labyrinth of tunnels and so much more. We actual took our 4X4 truck through the woods and fields and still didn't get to all the buildings. we spent the majority of our time in the 3 main buildings for our investigations. It was such a creepy old place I could see how it may have been construed as haunted. I say all of this in past tense because in 2005 or 2006 the buildings were bulldozed over to build a new Wal-Mart. Sorry to see it go it was such a great place but progress goes on.
The Demon house. We were graciously extended a welcome to spend the night and investigate the wonderful old mansion. It is now a Halloween Haunted House with a few natural spooks thrown in! It was an awesome place to investigate with all of it's ghost and ghouls to frighten the Kiddies and the stories from the staff of actual things that had happened to them while preparing and actually working there during the Haunting season. We will be going back again and I am sure there will be more to post. watch the Events page to see when we will be there again. |
