Equipment

The best equipment to start off with is the basics. When I first started to investigate ghost and paranormal the tools I used were nothing more than a:

Pencil

Note pad

Standard 35MM camera with 400 speed film and flash

Compass (for E.M.F.)

Audio Cassette recorder ( a trick with these are, it is better to have one with a remote mic instead of built in but built in will work also, never use them with sound/voice activation. If you are in an area and you do happen to get some E.V.P. by the time the mechanism kicks in you have missed the sound. With digital audio this feature is ok but I still prefer not to use it.)

String for marking doorways as well as powder to check for footprints/ hand and fingerprints or to see if anything has moved as well as masking tape for marking objects.

And Radio Shack motion detectors with audible alarm (normal used in doorways of mom and pop stores)

But now we have progressed to more high tech equipment. The old equipment still works just as good now as it did back then and I feel some should be used in conjunction with the new.

We now incorporate a:

DVR video surveillance system

Handheld Nightvision digital and 8MM camcorders

Digital Cameras

Digital Audio recorders

Trifield EMF meters

Raytek thermal IR non contact thermometers

Air temp probes

Indoor/Outdoor thermometer with remote probe (to be able to monitor temperature in 2 location simultaneously)
